Croatia Cruises on the Route Z1 Islands Paradise of Northern Dalmatia

Saturday: Zadar–Vodice

From 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, boarding time in the port of Zadar. If you arrive by your own car, you can proceed to the port already from 10:00 am and unload your luggage. Our serviceteam will show you the parking lot where you can leave your car. After embarkation, our representatives will welcome you aboard with a drink and you will meet the crew and your fellow passengers. After a lunch snack “Cast off!”, heading towards one of the numerous islands, where we will enjoy our first dip into the sea. We will then continue towards Vodice, a bustling holiday resort. After dinner on board, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the evening with a glass of wine in one of the cosy taverns or Konobas. For passengers arriving later, transfer to the port of Vodice and embarkation in the evening.

Sunday: Vodice–Šibenik–Skradin

A few miles further south, we leave the Adriatic Sea and turn into the embouchure of the River Krka. We go upstream and anchor in Šibenik. Šibenik, mentioned for the first time in 1006, is the youngest of the larger cities on the coast, and at the same time, the oldest Croatian town; as it was not built by Greeks, Romans, or Byzantines, but founded by Croats. The most famous building in the fortress-like old town is the St. Jacob’s Cathedral, the most important Renaissance monument in Croatia. Enjoy a stroll through the old town, before we continue on to Skradin, located shortly before the famous Krka waterfalls. Overnight stay in Skradin.

Monday: Skradin & Krka Water- falls–Island of Zlarin

After breakfast, you will have the opportunity to visit “Skradinski Buk”, the most impressive part of the amazing National Park, where in 17 waterfalls, with up to 100 m broad cascades, the Krka River rushes down 46 metres. Make sure you bring your swimwear – a swim in the clear waters of the Krka River just below the falls is a truly unique experience. (Park entrance, including boat ride approx. € 12–15, payable on-site). After our visit to the National Park, we will continue our voyage downstream and return to the Adriatic Sea and its islands. We will sail to the Island of Zlarin to enjoy a refreshing dip at one of the island’s secluded bays. Overnight stay in the small port of Zlarin.

Tuesday: Island of Zlarin–Kornati Islands National Park–Zadar Archipelago

According to the Irish author George Bernard Shaw (who received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1925), ”On the last day of creation, God crowned his work, and thus created, out of tears, stars and breath, the Kornati Islands”. The beautiful scenery, countless small and large islands (according to local lore “an island for every day of the year”), and the beautiful sea – all this makes the Kornati Islands a unique paradise. It is the largest and most dense archipelago in the Adriatic Sea – it comprises 147 islands, islets and reefs with a total area of 69 km 2 , spread over 230 km 2 . They cover an area of 35 km of length and 13 km of width among the islands of Dugi Otok in the north-west, Žirje in the southeast, and Pašman, Vrgada and Murter in the north and northeast. We cruise along the entire length of the Kornati Islands and head towards a bay for a swim. Overnight stay at one of the island places of the Zadar-Archipelago – e.g. Sali, Božava, Zverinac or Molat.

Wednesday: Zadar Archipelago– Island of Rab

Our today’s destination is the Island of Rab. On our way to Rab, we will take a break at the Island of Pag to enjoy a refreshing swim at one of the numerous beautiful bays. We will reach the Island of Rab in the late afternoon. Do not miss out to explore the old town on our guided city tour. The old town of Rab, with its impressive bell towers, stretches around a narrow, rocky promontory, flanked by water. Three streets pass through the old town – the “Lower Street” (Donja Ulica) with cafés and pubs, the “Middle Street” (Srednja Ulica) with boutiques, souvenir shops and ice cream parlours, and the “Upper Street” (Gornja Ulica), which leads to the four churches with their bell towers. Overnight stay in Rab.

Thursday: Island of Rab–Island of Lošinj–Island of Pag/Island of Olib

After breakfast, we will set off for the Island of Lošinj, where we will anchor in the picturesque port of Veli Lošinj. Emitting a lovely, bustling Mediterranean atmosphere, this place is just right to enjoy a drink or a coffee in one of the numerous bars and cafés. You will have approximately two hours to explore Veli Lošinj, before we continue our voyage to the south. Lunch will be served on board, accompanied by lovely views of a picturesque bay of Lošinj or the Island of Ilovik, where we will not only stay for lunch but also have plenty of time for swimming and sunbathing. We will reach Mandre on the Island of Pag or Olib on the homonymous Island in the late afternoon. Overnight stay in Mandre or Olib. Please note that the visit to Veli Lošinj depends on weather circumstances as the port is not protected from north-east winds. If such winds occur, the visit to Veli Lošinj will be cancelled for safety reasons.

Friday: Island of Pag/Island of Olib–Zadar

Before returning to Zadar, we will anchor in one of the numerous bays to take a last refreshing swim in the Adriatic Sea. After arriving in Zadar, a local tour guide will await us to take us on a walk through the impressive old town, surrounded by broad walls. He will show us the main sights and attractions – for example, the Roman Forum, the circular Church of St. Donat, the cathedral of Sveta Stosija (St. Anastasia) and the worldwide unique Sea Organs, which create sounds and melodies made by the waves. We then recommend taking a stroll through the old town on your own, perhaps to have a drink in one of the many cafés or to listen to a “Klapa”, with their enchanting songs. Overnight stay in Zadar.

Saturday: Disembarkation

After breakfast, disembarkation until 9:00 am.
